LAROYA

My very first passion project was in 2007, when I created a webpage on Neopets dedicated to listing dozens of other Neopets players/creatives who also made super cool graphics and webpages (I was one of the pre-teens that didn’t go outside to play after school, and instead spent our time learning CSS and the ins and outs of Photoshop).

Fast forward, and that craving to highlight and help other creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators manifested itself in the things I do now. After designing for more than half my life and working in design and communications for 8+ years, I really thrive in using my creative-yet-somehow-mathematical brain to help people and brands piece together what they love and what they need, and connecting the dots between their business goals and how to display them visually and strategically.

Versatility is a huge strength of mine; from juggling my design job at a university, working with clients, and working with Well Fed, it’s become natural for me to switch between projects with extremely different vibes like Clevr Blends packaging, Respin by Halle Berry social media and logistics, and Function of Vex products; often within the same day (it’s fun!) — and I’ll always understand the assignment.

I love thinking about language, perception, and psychology; things that, when combined with my introspectiveness, have been powerful in my work, communication, and leadership. When I’m not journalling about these things, I’m doing pottery, in a dance class, listening to K-Pop, or doing a fun activity for my inner child :) If you want to have a conversation about any of these, recommend a good comedy series to me, or just say hi, let’s chat!
